Michael Jackson’s death prompts a surge of status updates
The Facebook Data Team have just posted a picture that graphs status updates per minute following the death of Michael Jackson.

For a brief timeline of the event, assuming the time on the x-axis is set to correct timezone: At 12:21, Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to the 911 call, arriving nine minutes later to find Michael unconscious and not breathing. Resuscitation efforts continued both en route to the UCLA Medical Center, and after arrival at approximately 13:14 for a further hour. He was pronounced dead at 14:26.
Unfortunately, as the numbers on the y-axis have been hidden, the actual quantities of status updates are unable to be determined.

Yes, but without the y-axis, that doesn’t really tell us anything.
